That would be my educated guess, that it occurs in interaction with sleep modes. As soon as the back up is finished I dismount the SSD. I set the screen dimming to two hours or so, to prevent interfering with sleep modes. If I want to backup my Mac Studio, I plug in the Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 1TB V2 into the Thunderbolt USB-C on the back of the computer. Already on the second or third day I started getting Panic Reports, after the computer crashed and restarted. I have a brand new Mac Studio Max M2 with the Apple Studio Display, just two weeks old.
